Descaling and Corrosion Control Additives
Descaling and corrosion control additives are two common types of additives used in industrial water treatment.
Descale additives are chemicals used to remove mineral deposits (scale) that can build up on the internal surfaces of industrial equipment, such as boilers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers. These mineral deposits can reduce equipment efficiency, increase energy consumption, and lead to equipment failure. Descale additives work by dissolving the mineral scale buildup and preventing it from reforming.
Corrosion control additives, on the other hand, are used to prevent or minimize the corrosion of industrial equipment. Corrosion occurs when metal surfaces are exposed to water and oxygen.
