Plaster Compound Additives
Plaster Compound Additives are substances added to plaster compound, a mixture of plaster, water, and other ingredients, to improve its performance.
These additives can improve the plaster compound’s strength, workability, or other properties. Common plaster compound additives include plasticizers, which make the material more workable, and superplasticizers, which increase the material’s strength and reduce the water needed.
Other additives to control rheology (including cellulose products and fibers of different types), retarders, accelerators, defoamers, air entrainers, and other materials make the finished goods form more workable plaster compounds and improve their performance in this application.
