Sodium Thiosulfate is a concrete admixture accelerator additive used to speed up the curing process of concrete. It is used primarily as a dechlorinating agent to neutralize the chlorine in the concrete mix. By balancing the chlorine, sodium thiosulfate can prevent the corrosion of reinforcing steel, leading to structural damage and compromising the final product’s durability.
Sodium Thiosulfate can also improve the quality of the concrete surface, making it more resistant to staining and discoloration.

Sodium Thiosulfate is added to well fluids to chemically react with H2S and convert it to harmless sulfur compounds. Sodium Thiosulfate reacts with H2S to produce sodium hydrosulfite and sulfur. The sulfur precipitates out of the solution, leaving the well fluid free of H2S.
