Ceramic Microspheres

  • Ceramic Microspheres as cementing additives can yield high-strength, low-permeability, CO2-resistant cement when cured in hydrothermal environments. By reducing the density of the cement slurry and improving its resistance to CO2 corrosion, these microspheres can help to ensure a strong and durable cement job that maintains its properties over the life of the well.

Adding hollow aluminosilicate microspheres to the uncured cement matrix constituents results in low-density slurries. When cured in hydrothermal environments, these slurries produce materials that meet the criteria for well cementing, including high strength, low permeability, and resistance to CO2 corrosion.

Ceramic Microspheres exhibit low carbonation rates, which is essential for well-cementing applications. By using Ceramic Microspheres, which are highly resistant to CO2 corrosion, the cementing formulation can maintain its integrity and strength over the life of the well.

The cementing formulations containing Ceramic Microspheres are also pumpable at temperatures up to 150°C, making them suitable for high-temperature environments.
