Calcium Formate

• Calcium Formate is a salt of formic acid and calcium, and it is commonly used in the oil and gas industry in both cementing and fluid loss/circulation applications.

  In cementing applications, Calcium Formate is used as an accelerator, which means it speeds up the setting and hardening of the cement. This is particularly useful in colder environments where the curing process can be slower. Calcium Formate has the added benefit of accelerating the cement’s initial and final set, which can be crucial when quick cementing is needed.
