ATH (Aluminum Trihydrate)

  • Aluminum Trihydrate is a mineral-based flame retardant that releases water molecules when exposed to heat. The released water molecules cool down the material and dilute the flammable gases, preventing or slowing the spread of fire. Aluminum Trihydrate also acts as a smoke suppressant and can reduce the number of toxic gases released during a fire.

In addition to their fire-retardant properties, these additives can also improve the physical properties of the added materials. For example, Aluminum Trihydrate can improve plastics’ stiffness and impact resistance.
