    Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) is an anti-wear additive that reduces friction and wears in high-load and high-temperature applications. It is a solid lubricant that forms a protective layer on metal surfaces and reduces surface-to-surface contact. MoS2 is commonly used in EP greases for heavy machinery, mining, and industrial equipment applications. It is an excellent lubricant for high-pressure and high-temperature applications. It has a very low coefficient of friction, making it useful in applications such as gears, bearings, and other mechanical components.

    Another application of MoS2 is as a solid, dry lubricant in environments where oil-based lubricants would be inappropriate, such as in a vacuum, in the presence of aggressive chemicals, in high temperatures, or high radiation exposure.
